Brooke Dickson

Award-winning artist Brooke Dickson is known for the fluid motion of her work. A figurative painter who became fascinated with equine sports, she finds it challenging to depict the color and excitement that is the essence of each event. She is equally famous for her perceptive renderings of the people and settings of the equestrian world, where her bold style conveys the atmosphere of equine competition. Her unique ability to express the relationship between horses and their human partners has led to a growing career in portraiture, with subjects ranging from polo and jumping teams to the weekend rider who simply loves the family gelding.
Brooke Dickson earned her MFA from the University of Washington , Seattle . She began her career as a graphic artist and illustrator and began focusing on the equestrian subject in the mid 1980’s. Her work has been shown in California , North Carolina and Kentucky , as well as seen in various publications, including most notably Polo.
