Biographical Information

George W. Horlor
British 1849-1891

George W. Horlor was an English animal and sporting painter from Cheltenham specialised in painting animals and sporting subjects. He lived in Cheltenham, Birmingham and Brentford.  His style was bright and cheerful. He exhibited regularly at the Royal Academy (London) between 1849 and 1890. Many of his paintings have been made into reproductions. His original oil paintings occasionally come up to the auction block.
